Speaker Biographies:

Molly Crawford is the Chief of Staff in the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Division of Privacy and Identity Protection, where she works on policy, legislative, and educational efforts relating to privacy, data security, and technology. Previously, Crawford worked as a senior attorney in the division, where she led investigations into companies’ privacy and data security practices, including the Commission’s cases against TJX, ChoicePoint, and DSW. Crawford has also served as senior advisor to the Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, and counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, where she advised on privacy, data security, and other FTC-related matters.

Raj De is a partner in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office and leads the firm's global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice. He is also co-leader of the firm’s National Security practice group, and a member of the firm’s Congressional Investigations & Crisis Management team. After nearly two decades in private practice and public service across all three branches of the United States government, Raj is one of the most trusted voices in Washington. He has held senior appointments in the White House, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Defense (DOD). Raj returned to Mayer Brown in 2015 after serving as General Counsel at the United States National Security Agency (NSA). Since returning to the firm, Raj has received numerous recognitions, including by American Lawyer (“Lateral All-Star”), Washingtonianmagazine (“Top Lawyer”), National Law Journal (“Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Trailblazer”), and Cybersecurity Docket (“Incident Response 30”).

Dr. Clifford Rossi is an Executive-in-Residence and Professor of the Practice at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. Prior to entering academia, Rossi had nearly 25 years’ experience in banking and government, having held senior executive roles in risk management at several of the largest financial services companies.

His most recent position was Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer for Citigroup’s Consumer Lending Group where he was responsible for overseeing the risk of a $300+B global portfolio of mortgage, home equity, student loans and auto loans with 700 employees under his direction. While there he was intimately involved in Citi’s TARP and stress test activities. He also served as Chief Credit Officer at Washington Mutual (WaMu) and as Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer at Countrywide Bank.
