What’s Ahead? : State Financial Services/Data Privacy legislation and State Budget Factors coming right at you in 2021

The speakers are at the forefront of state government relations issues impacting financial services firms especially related to consumer finance issues.  The three panelists will offer a brief recap of the financial/budget conditions of key states entering into 2021 and note how those financial issues may shape the legislative proposals at the state level.

Additionally, the speakers will offer their unique insights into possible financial services legislation, including data privacy bills that may be offered during the upcoming legislative sessions in key states around the country.

This panel of experienced government relations professionals also will discuss instances of anticipated new financial services/fintech legislative actions in one state which, in turn, might be used as a template in other states, too.

The range of state-level topics to be discussed during the program likely will include credit card developments, payment systems issues, consumer credit matters, data privacy/cybersecurity, Covid-19 actions affecting financial services providers, economic development initiatives with financial firms involvement along with federalism issues that likely will emerge with a Biden Administration Treasury Department, HUD, and CFPB.
