FHFA’s Director of External Relations will provide an update on FHFA regulatory priorities and efforts to advance housing reform.

As Director of External Relations, Greenwood oversees the Office of Congressional Affairs and Communications, including stakeholder outreach.  She joined FHFA in April 2019.


Before joining FHFA, Greenwood served as the Policy Associate Director of Consumer Education and Engagement at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), reporting to the Director on behalf of the division. Prior to her work at CFPB, Greenwood served as Chief of Staff to Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Ben Carson.   In a prior administration, she served as Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations and Deputy Chief of Staff at HUD, oversaw legislative efforts around Hurricanes Katrina and Rita at the US Department of Homeland Security, and was a Senior Legislative Officer at the US Department of Labor. 


Greenwood’s prior work outside the government includes government and public affairs advocacy for Fortune 500 companies and trade associations, primarily focused on financial services, mortgages, insurance, and energy.  She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and currently resides in northern Virginia with her husband and son.
