The day opens with the Mortgage Bankers Association Chief Economist Mike Fratantoni and Laurie Goodman, director of the Urban Institute’s Housing Finance Policy Center, discussing the state of housing today.  Following that, one of the blockchain leaders from FS Vector, (and founding CFPB Deputy Director) Raj Date, and others, will explain how blockchain is changing housing.

Our keynote remarks will be provided in a “fireside chat” with the General Counsel of the US Treasury Department, Brent McIntosh.  The next panel will discuss emerging uses of artificial intelligence in housing and finance (should we be wary?).  Then, we will hear from leadership of the CFTC’s “regulatory sandbox” efforts who will explain why “regulatory innovation” is not an oxymoron!

Our day concludes with a comprehensive cybersecurity panel with moderator Barbara Cooper Jones leading a panel of experts. Immediately following that panel will be a cyber “playground” (with adult refreshments) where attendees will navigate multiple stations with interactive cyber challenges, immersion experiences, and real-world demonstrations related to phishing and ethical hacking.

Come listen to representatives from government and industry discuss when the future will arrive!  In addition, during all of the panels, we will reflect on how we, as practitioners in these fields, can ensure that the housing and finance economy includes all the participation of all the diverse members of our community.
