An Evening with Experts: WHF Mentorship Subcommittee Hosts an Evening wtih Accomplished Professionals in the Financial Services Industry
On Wednesday, January 25th, the Women in Housing and Finance Mentorship Subcommittee hosted "A WHF Evening Reception: There's More to Law than Lawyering in the Financial Services Industry." The evening included a panel of accomplished professionals in the financial services who each spoke about their experience entering the financial services industry, overcoming challenges and the role WHF has played in their careers. Marti Tirrinanzi speaks at Foundation Partner AACH's event for Adopt-A-Familty clients.
When the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless (AACH), approached the Women in Housing & Finance Foundation for assistance in finding a speaker on money management basics for its Adopt-A-Family clients, the Foundation reached out to its membership seeking volunteers. Enter Marti Tirrinanzi, a long-time WHF member and president and CEO of the financial research firm Financial Standards.
Melinda West was named the new Deputy Director for Strategic Planning and Resource Management.
Mindy currently serves as Assistant Director of Operations. In this capacity, she has overseen and provided leadership to a number of high profile projects, including the Division's Diversity and Inclusion Plan, the FDIC's Community Bank Initiative, and the recent efforts to update training materials through the Directors' Colleges. Mindy began her thirty plus year FDIC career as an Assistant Examiner in the Harrisburg, PA Field Office. After receiving her commission, she moved to Washington, D.C., and served as Course Administrator in the Training Center. She has held several positions in Washington D.C., including FFIEC Program Administrator, Acting Associate Director for Strategic Planning, Budget and Reporting, Acting Associate Director for the Policy and Program Development Section, Special Advisor to the Chairman's Office for the inaugural meeting of the Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion, and Chief of the Policy and Program Development Section. She also served on a one-year detail assignment to the Banque of France. Mindy is a graduate of the University of Delaware and holds an MBA from George Washington University. (4/4/13)
