Speaker: Cate Long, Founder, Multiple-Markets

Speaker Bio:  Cate has worked extensively with industry standards groups, regulators and Congress to open fixed income markets.  Cate’s focus areas include fixed income market structure and market transparency, the oversight of credit ratings agencies, and the standardization of the electronic trading of fixed income securities.  Prior to founding Multiple-Markets, Cate worked at ING Barings.
                                    
Program Description:
With global fixed income markets estimated to be larger than $60 trillion, recent market events have highlighted the interrelatedness of financial institutions and markets as well as the impact of volatility from different sectors.  The presentation will outline the major market participants, including a discussion of the role of investment banks and credit rating agencies.  The presentation will also include reasons behind the failure of non-bank financial firms as well as the impact of government guarantees.
