Learn about volunteer opportunities to teach financial empowerment to women who reside at Calvary Women’s Services. Should you decide to volunteer, your commitment can be for as little as a one hour afternoon session teaching a small group of women basic financial skills they need to attain economic security. This BBL will feature instruction using the FDIC Money Smart program. This simple program is divided into easy-to-teach modules that cover fundamental financial topics such as how to build a spending plan and the importance of saving.
WHF volunteers have taught six series of classes at Calvary and have rave reviews about the experience and the women they taught. Individuals who participate in the September 2 BBL or who have received training on how to teach the Money Smart curriculum previously will have the opportunity to teach one or more classes starting October 6, 2015. A total of 8 classes from Oct. 6 to Nov. 24 will be held on each Tuesday from 1:30–2:30 at Calvary Women’s Services, located just minutes past the National’s baseball stadium.Check the website calendar for details. For questions and to volunteer, please call the WHF Foundation at 703-683-4742 or WHF Foundation President Mary Martha Fortney at 703-507-4088 (email at firstname.lastname@example.org).
For All WHF Members with Volunteer Interests:
The WHF Foundation is initiating a new volunteer practice. If you find an intriguing volunteering event with either one of our partners or somewhere else, please let us know by contacting email@example.com. We will then share this volunteering opportunity with WHF members, to hopefully encourage other members to join you. (For example, getting a group together to build a house for Habitat for Humanity). By sharing and attending volunteer opportunities, WHF members can network with each other and provide goodwill to our partners and the community. The WHF Foundation hopes you will let us know when you have a volunteering opportunity so we can share it with our members.
Thank you so much for giving back to the Washington Community,
The WHF Foundation
