Partnership Grant Program

Applying for a 2009-2010 Grant

One of the main activities of the WHF Foundation is to award partnership grants to organizations that provide services to women and their families in the Washington DC area.  In August of 2000 the Foundation made its first grants to six local non-profit organizations.  In total the WHF Foundation has contributed over $505,000 to local organizations.

When the annual WHF Foundation grant application process begins letters inviting prospective recipients to apply will be mailed to all past applicants and recipients.  Suggestions of organizations to include in this mailing are welcome from all WHF members.  Especially if you have a connection via your own financial support or volunteer activity with an eligible organization, please e-mail the organization’s contact information to WHF.

2009-10 applications are due by February 26, 2010.  To download our Application Guidelines (PDF) please click here.

About the WHF Foundation Grant Program

In August of 2000, the Foundation made its first grants to six local non-profit organizations. The grants helped these local organizations serve women and their families in the areas of housing and finance. They all had exemplary track records at serving their target groups, which included homeless families and low-income women. Every year since then, the Foundation has awarded partnership grants.

In 2002, the WHF Foundation honored retiring Congressman John LaFalce by making the grant to the Northwest Church Family Network in his honor.

If you made a contribution to the WHF Foundation in 2008, here are the organizations and activities that your contribution made possible.
