Speaker: Dr. Berman of the SEC
Program Description: Throughout the financial crisis the topics of risk management and regulation have received extensive, though separate, coverage. But much less has been written about the intersection of these two fields. Gregg Berman, current co-deputy director of the SEC's Division of Risk, Strategy, and Financial Innovation will explore the various relationships between risk management and regulation, compare similarities, and contrast appropriate differences. What perspectives might the lessons of risk management give us about regulation? What should risk managers learn from the goals of regulation?
Speaker Bio: Gregg E. Berman, Ph.D, joined the SEC's new risk division in the fall of 2009. Prior to that Mr. Berman had been the head of the risk management business at New-York based RiskMetrics Group.
