Program Description: Recent headlines suggest that the US government has no intention of letting up on its unrelenting enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) within a multitude of industries. Learn the basics of this statute, the pitfalls of inadequate compliance, and what steps your company should take to successfully implement an effective anti-corruption compliance program in the current enforcement environment. Fiona Philip of Sidley Austin LLP will provide this overview and lead an in-depth discussion about current developments in anticorruption enforcement.

Speaker Bio: Fiona A. Philip is a Counsel in the SEC Enforcement, Accountants Liability and White Collar Crime Practice groups in the Washington, D.C. office. Ms. Philip’s practice is focused on defending SEC enforcement actions and has included matters involving the FCPA, insider trading, stock options backdating, and accounting and internal controls irregularities. She also assists and counsels boards of directors with internal investigations and advises public companies, securities exchanges, and financial services firms with Sarbanes-Oxley counseling and remedial measures related to securities laws issues.
